I have had my grandfather's guitar for a while now and just wanted to find out more information. Not very familiar with all the guitar lingo though.

Les Paul Epiphone Serial Number

I have am Epiphone FT 145 Texan, serial number 470605.it has 6 strings (I dont even know if thats standard, how embarassing:oops: I grew up playing the piano, never could get the hang of a guitar) States that it was made in Japan. Only thing I have found out on my own is maybe around the early 70s; but I heard there is no way to track the serial numbers of these models, I think its earlier than the 70s. Is there anyway to find out for sure?:).
